On the way out of he base this morning we stopped at memorial and museum. The museum was closed however we got to meet Ron Hawkins who served on the base when the PBY Catalina’s were in service, now he volunteers at the museum and forgot his key today. Oh well…

Caught the Ferry to Port Townsand, WA, most of the transit was in the thick fog.

Rode back into Port Angeles and continued west on Rt 101 and then turned off onto Rt 112&113. Beautiful road with regard to twists & turns, but as far as scenery – 0! We continued to Forks, WA. Where we stopped for Twilight on the North Olympic Peninsula. Twilight is a Vampire theme romance novels by author Stephenie Meyer. It appears Bella, Edward and Jacob left Forks, LaPush, and Port Angeles, so we will not got around seeking photo opportunities here.

Well, it time to start pointing the bike in the direction of SoCal, so Friday I'm going to begin hugging the coast as Walter heads back to DC. Between then and now we have a few miles to cover and check off some possible destinations:

  • Mount St. Helens
  • Mount Rainier
  • Pikes Market
