Day 42 – Saturday: July
27, 2013, miles ridden today: 252.0
Due to the floods back
in June across southern Canada my path toward the USA, Glacier National Park
was limited. I found most of the Byways damaged and closed, so Calgary, AB was unavoidable.
After a “lousy” light lunch in Cardson, AB I crossed the border in Babb, MT
then finished up the day at Lake St. Mary, MT in East Glacier KOA.
Nice thing about KOA’s,
there is food available, so there is no need to venture out after putting the
bike down for the day. After a BBQ Chicken dinner, I was doing my evening walk
and met another couple, Carolyn & Joe from Oklahoma, both riding their own
motorcycles. They had been here a few days exploring the park; last week they
attended the BMW MOA Rally in Salem, Oregon. They and everyone else I spoke to
this past week raved about this event. I should consider attending next year’s
event myself.
Sorry about the late
blog posts, I thought I could catch up here, but the Internet was real bad.
With a capability of 100 users, there were 400 trying to use it and it just
quit. So be patient.
